I spent around 3 hours to make these. It's so cold in Monterrey the temperature was close to zero. The clay was too hard and most time I spent was to mix the clay to match the color of the photo.

Finally it happened!

"Finally it happened!!! " as S said. We finally got married at Feb 11th.

I made these wedding dolls when I was still in Mexico last December after S proposed to me. He had proposed to me with the least romantic way by sending a message through the gtalk. I accepted anyway. Romantic is the last word we will think about when it came to marriage. There are too many things we need to figure out and too many facts we need to face. And at that time there were too many concern in my mind. Everyone of them will drive me crazy. But I still feel very happy when S proposed to me. Even more than the monent I got married. I had thought I will keep these dolls in the cake or somewhere in my wedding. I even made the face of the boy a little dark to make the skin of S. But finally we didn't use them.

Red Clay Shell Censer -- Shell from zipolite oaxaca

I went to oaxaca at september. It's a amzaing journey. In my following life, I will always remember and miss those days. I got these shells from the beach of Zipolite as a memento. I thought I need to make something out of these shells. I bought a chunk of red paper clay long time back. And I deceided to make a censer. I made it too big and at the end I did not have enough clay. That's the reason the surface is not so smooth. Anyway we use it all the time and we don't need to clean the ash any more.

Bird Smoking Pipe

I am kind satisfied with my work this time. I like simple and natural design. The bird looks quiet and peaceful. The idea of making smoking pipe is base on the requirement of sachin. He is not a heavy smoker but sometime they smoke at the weekend. I am very happy it works and they really use it.

Two Maya Pot

After visit Teotihuacan and Anthropoloy Museum in Mexico city, I was inspired by the splendid antient culture of Mexico. And I made two maya pot with the white color clay. Do you feel they look like a couple? The one with bigger eyes is male and the other is female. I like their simple and unaffected design. When you see them, you can feel their vital and cheerful spirit. The female pot felled down a flight of stairs and broke a small part. I do not fix it and just want it be that way. And it gives her the beauty of nature. Now they are with one of my friend. I gave them to her as a B'Day gift. But I want to keep their photos here as a memento. I don't know how to describe my feeling to them, I created them and they are like my babies.

White clay skeleton

I like "La catrina" at the first time I saw her in the Mexican airport. Before I know her name I just call her skeleton lady. La Catrina figures are a traditional part of Mexican folk art, where death is a common motive and simply seen as the other half of life. This is the first time I made the skeleton so I decided not to make one La catria, instead I just made a simple skeleton with the white color clay.
